When Houston plastic surgeon Dr. German Newall developed an innovative new lateral brow lift technique to restore an attractive, rejuvenated appearance to the brows, he not only improved the results that can be achieved with the traditional endoscopic brow lift procedure, he also eliminated one of its potential pitfalls.

“The most common way to rejuvenate the brows is through an endoscopic brow lift, which brings up the midsection (medial) and outermost parts (lateral) of the brows. But the pitfall of bringing up the midsection is it can give you a surprised look,” said Dr. Newall. “Many people avoid brow lift surgery because they’re scared of getting a startled look."

To eliminate this unwanted effect, Dr. Newall developed a new lateral brow technique which focuses on raising the outermost sections of the brows to give the face a more youthful, attractive look. “If properly elevated, this technique avoids the startled look, and it also gives the face an attractive, exotic look,” said Dr. Newall.

To raise the brows, a small incision of approximately three centimeters is made in the hairline of the temple region, so that the resulting scar is well-concealed. The brows are then lifted into a more youthful position, and excess skin is trimmed away to restore a smooth look to the forehead. The lateral brow lift is a one hour procedure that Dr. Newall performs at his certified private surgery center in Houston, Texas. Recovery from the procedure is approximately 5-7 days.
