Dr. Newall Supports the Second Annual Haras Cup

Peruvian Paso horses are exquisite and rare. The Peruvian Paso horse has evolved as one of the purest breeds in the world and as a unique entity in the horse kingdom. Descended from the horses of the conquistadors, this breed possesses the royal heritage of the Spanish breeds. They are known to have the smoothest gait in the world, making it a comfortable and pleasant journey for the rider.

Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. German Newall, of the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery has a deep appreciation for Peruvian Paso horses. He enjoys spending time at his ranch, El Chalan, with his family, riding the beautiful Paso horses that are native to his country of Peru. Dr. Newall has dedicated his ranch to the magnificent Peruvian Paso breed. His countryside ranch in Hempstead, Texas is home to 35 of these stunning horses.

Due to his deep appreciation of horses, Dr. Newall lent his support as a Gold Sponsor to the most important working equitation championship in the United States, The Haras Cup. This three day event took place at the lavish Haras Hacienda located in the countryside of Magnolia, Texas.

The championship showcases top horsemen and women from across North America and Europe and their talent in dressage, obstacles, and performance at speed as they compete for $80,000 in prize money. The first day involved the dressage competition where children, youth, and adults competed in grand arenas and present the systematic development between the horse and the rider. The obstacle competition was the highlight of the second day in which horses and riders demonstrate their skill around obstacles that require control and accuracy. The final day of the competition tested the riders’ performances at speed as they race through another obstacle course.

Along with the competitions, the weekend event included exhibitions, fashion shows, and evening parties. The event benefited Kids’ Meals Houston, charity that provides meals to pre-school aged children living in poverty.

Dr. Newall and his wife Micheline made an appearance at the Equestrian Dream Soiree Dinner where he mingled with socialites and the owners of Haras Enterprises, Carmina Zamorano and Rafael Chavez.
