Kybella® in Houston, TX
Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as a “double chin,” is a common yet undertreated facial condition. It can be influenced by several factors such as aging, genetics, and weight gain, and can affect men and women in Houston, Post Oak, Sugar Land, Katy, and the surrounding areas of Texas. Led by Dr. German Newall, a board-certified plastic surgeon and founding member of The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery, our team of nurse injectors and aestheticians offer Kybella® treatments to reduce submental fat.
What is Kybella®?
According to a 2015 survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Society (ASDS), 67% of people said they were bothered by submental fullness. People are just as bothered by the under-the-chin fullness as they are by the lines and wrinkles around the eyes. Kybella® is a non-surgical, FDA-approved treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat).
What Are the Benefits of Kybella®?
- Non-surgical, 15 to 20-minute in-office procedure
- Customized plan of treatment to help you achieve your treatment goals
- Safe and effective
- Minimal downtime
What Can I Expect from Kybella®?
Kybella® is identical to something your body makes called deoxycholic acid, which helps to absorb fat. Once the Kybella® is injected below the chin, it works by destroying fat cells in the treated area(s).
The plan of treatment will be discussed during consultation. During consultation, you and your provider will discuss the number of Kybella® treatments, goals and expectations, and post-treatment care. Two to four treatments are recommended for optimal results.
The most common side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, redness, and areas of hardness around the treated area.
Am I a Good Candidate for Kybella®?
Because each patient is unique, the best way to know if you are a good candidate for Kybella® is to schedule a consultation at our practice. Knowing your cosmetic goals and examining the fullness under your chin is necessary to make the most appropriate recommendation for treatment
