Breast reduction is a plastic surgery procedure that reduces the breast fat, skin, and glandular tissues to resize the breasts and re-position the nipples; afterwards, the breasts will be smaller and more proportional to the body. How is a Breast Reduction Performed?

Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Reduction?

You are a good candidate for breast reduction surgery if you are someone who is feeling great discomfort from the weight of your breasts. If you are feeling back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, skin chafing, and shoulder indentions from tight bra straps, you may want to consider breast reduction. Breast reduction should be postponed for those women who plan to breast feed, and for girls whose breasts are not yet fully developed. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia in an outpatient surgical setting.
