Benefits of CoolSculpting®

Unlike most other methods of fat reduction, CoolSculpting® involves no needles, surgery, or downtime. Patients often spend the one to two hours of procedure time reading, working on their laptops, or simply relaxing. Results can be seen in as soon as three weeks following treatment, with the best results occurring over the next two to four months; however, individual responses may vary.

Am I a Candidate for CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® is best for those who are within 10 to 15 pounds of their ideal weight who have fat bulges that are resistant to reduction through diet and exercise.

What Results Can I Expect from CoolSculpting®?

Individual results vary; however, the average fat reduction of the treated area is 20%. Oftentimes, a patient’s treatment plan calls for a second procedure depending upon the patient’s personal goals and situation. Final losses may be more or less, depending on the individual patient’s situation.

What Happens During CoolSculpting®?

The patient and doctor first select the area(s) to be treated. For instance, if the patient’s goal is to reduce their love handles, the doctor will position the system on the patient’s side. The device then draws the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm tug and pull – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently.

Does CoolSculpting® Hurt?

As the panels go to work in the first few minutes, the patient feels a sensation of intense cold. This soon dissipates. The patient is seated comfortably or lying down during the one to two-hour procedure. Many people spend this time reading, working on their laptop, or simply relaxing.

What is the Downtime for CoolSculpting®?

The CoolSculpting® procedure is completely non-invasive, so the patient can return to normal activities immediately. Patients may experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, or numbness in the treated area, but this is temporary.

What Results Can I Expect from CoolSculpting®?

Patients may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after their treatment and will experience the most dramatic results after two months; however, all patients are different and individual results may vary from these norms. The body will continue flushing fat cells for up to four months.

During the CoolSculpting® procedure, the affected fat cells are damaged and will be excreted from the body in the normal healing process. New fat growth is always a concern and is typically a result of poor diet and exercise. That’s why in all our CoolSculpting® treatment plans we encourage patients to follow a healthy lifestyle with a combination of good diet and exercise. Results are stable and long term when you follow a good diet and exercise regimen.
